We have a brand new Stephen Ministry team!
We just commissioned our first group of Stephen Ministers in August 2025. This ministry offers a proven and effective way to organize, equip, and supervise a team of congregation members—called Stephen Ministers—to provide confidential high-quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered emotional and spiritual care to people in the congregation and the community experiencing life difficulties.
Stephen Ministers are congregation members who go through extensive training led by their Stephen Leaders. After commissioning, a Stephen Minister typically has one care receiver at a time and meets with that person once a week for about an hour to listen and encourage. Twice a month Stephen Ministers gather with their Stephen Leaders for supervision and continuing education.
If you are interested in serving as a Stephen Minister, please contact a Stephen Leader or Pastor Jeff. A new group will begin in fall of 2026. Current Stephen leaders are Caitlin Albers and Sarah Sekki.
Care receivers are individuals in the congregation or community who are going through a crisis or life difficulty. Potential care receivers first meet with a pastor or Stephen Leader, who assesses their needs for care and matches them with a Stephen Minister. The caring relationship lasts for as long as the need persists. The identity of those receiving care is not shared with other Stephen Ministers or others outside of Stephen Ministry. Confidentiality is the priority.
If you are interested in receiving care, please contact a Stephen Leader or Pastor Jeff.
