Lutheran Ladies’ Lunch Group Happenings

The Lutheran Ladies’ Lunch group started as a monthly lunch group.  We soon found we wanted to do more than just lunch so we decided to put our resources together for service projects. Our first project was to work with Lutheran Child and Family Services who place children in foster care.
We wanted to make the process easier for teenage boys and girls going into foster care so we decided to supply 25 boys and 25 girls with their own special gift bag of personal hygiene items to take with them when they are placed with a foster family.
With contributions,  we bought gift bags for each child and filled them with items such as conditioner/shampoo, deodorant, a wash cloth, toothbrush, toothpaste, trendy socks, wrist bands, etc.  On a tag attached to the bags, we wrote “From First Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church" on one side and a short Bible verse on the other.
We hope these special bags of goodies will help the teenagers as they make the transition to a foster family.
